Without mincing words, exactly two months after assumption of office, Ogbeni Aregbesola organized a world-class education summit with the purpose of charting a new course toward liberating the educational sector  in Ipinle Omoluabi, in conformity with the evolving trends in the sector. Therefore, schools were classified under basic education as elementary, middle and high, rather than the then existing primary, junior and secondary level, while a comprehensive overhaul of the physical and human components of the sector was also recommended.

Ogun State has been adjudged as the fastest growing economy and the first choice of industrialists and entrepreneurs among the 36 states in the country.
According to Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, the verdict was passed by the management and board of editors of the nation's leading business newspaper, Business Day, at its States Competitiveness and Good Governance Awards ceremony, held in Lagos.

FAYEMI Holds Town Hall Meeting


The concept of the town hall meeting is borrowed from the traditional town meeting style of government used in New England. In this style, the citizens of a town get together to decide on issues of importance to the community, such as budgeting, purchase of new equipment for emergency services and so forth. All the members present can vote, and they can also discuss issues directly with elected officials. The town meeting system continues to be used in many small New England towns, with citizens also voting in regional, state and national elections.

OYO Appoints New Special Advisers

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has appointed 15 Special Advisers to join the newly-appointed commissioners as members of the State Executive Council.
The governor, while speaking at the swearing in ceremony of the newly-appointed special advisers at the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor's Office, Ibadan, said pressure involved in appointing the new special advisers was borne out of the willingness of several indigenes to serve his administration.

Oshiomhole Celebrates 5th Anniversary, Launches APC

Recently, Edo state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole celebrated his 5th year anniversary.
The event, which was also used for the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC), attracted APC chieftains, including the Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Head of State, Gen Muhammadu Buhari , Audu Ogbeh, Alhaji Bello Masari and Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
As part of activities to mark the anniversary, project were inaugurated, such as a road project in Benin City, four projects off the Airport Road, the five Junction project, which consists of a roundabout, massive underground drains and street lights.

To the Pupils and teachers of Adesonwon Junior Grammar School, Ilara, Epe and Odogunyan Secondary School, Odogunyan, in Ikorodu, learning and teaching will become more enjoyable as Governor Babatunde Fashola recently inaugurated two new blocks of classrooms at the two schools.
To Governor Fashola, the two new blocks underscore the importance of infrastructure in the overall quality of education as well as keep faith with his administration's promise of providing quality education by putting in place requisite facilities.
The governor, who was well represented by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, said: “Lagos State Government recognizes the importance of infrastructure in the overall quality of education needed by a child to realize his or her full potential and this is why we are keeping faith with our promise to provide quality education by putting in place the requisite facilities, such as the ones being inaugurated today.”

In recent time, there has  been  a myth that every hundred years, unique beings are sent to various parts of the world to explore and bring to use, the intellectual standardization of the Almighty, with the purpose of  liberating  people from suffering, ignorance, captivity, maladministration and the likes.
In this generation, we have begin to discover such mysterious creatures, who are godsend, whose functionality, dynamism and brilliancy are incomparable, notable and indisputable towards a specific purpose that eventually leads to human development, capacity advancement and nation-building. They exhibit spectacular things and have clearly identified themselves as icons filled with creativity. They are advocator of justice, symbols of greatness and undoubtedly a blessing to many generations.
However, such myth became so real 56 years ago when a child was born in a little town of Ilesa, State of Osun, Nigeria. Little did people know that the fate of a state would later be placed on his shoulder.
